The What + Where method - how to win on Google locally, with no technical skills at all.
{Credit to Bret, Mindsaw, for this idea - his video helped me outline this method}
If you have a business, a website, and a Google Business Profile, this is for you.
If you have friends or family that have those 3 things, send this article to them.
What Google wants, is to easily and simply understand your business, so it can serve up answers to people Googling things.
Keep it simple, and you’ll win.
The What + Where method is a process whereby you send your website, Google Business Profile link, and your social media accounts to a wide variety of people - possibly including Grandma - and ask them:
What does my business do?
Where is my business - what area do we serve?
Listen to their feedback, and then work on making it clearer if you have deficiencies.
Run your eye over as many pages and digital assets as possible, and ensure that what you do, and where you are, is blatantly obvious.
That’s the entire method.
If you look at top ranking websites for local area businesses, the What + Where is abundantly clear everywhere you look.
Making your website and digital assets simpler and clearer to understand is always a power play for both Google results, and also people finding you, then turning into customers.
People should be able to look at your website, or other digital assets, and understand exactly what you do, and where you are, almost instantly.
