I’m certain you’ll already know some of this information - but the power is in the doing.
The first point is business 101 - but so effective when built into your standard operating procedures for your business.
Points 2 and 3 are to do with Google and Google Business Profile:
1️⃣ The power of the follow up:
The vast majority of people, when they first contact your business, are in “research mode”.
They aren’t ready to buy.
Follow them up a few weeks later - “Hey Joe, do you still need that (insert product or service here)”.
Never a waste of time.
Probably 10x impactful for your business than that next Facebook post….
2️⃣ You CAN upload videos to Google Business Profile that are longer than 30 seconds!
Very useful - videos are appearing from your Google Business Profile in more places.
But, the 30 second limitation has been a problem.
Turns out - the real limitation is file size, not video length. uploading longer videos, we’ve seen as long as 4 minutes get uploaded recently. This might give you an advantage over your opposition.
So, condense your videos files down (Google it), and try it out.
The quality of videos once uploaded can be a problem, but we think this will improve given time.
3️⃣ Pre-SEO - anyone with a website must ask these questions:
Usually, people build a website, and then consult an SEO (rank higher on Google) person later.
I’d love it if it was the other way around.
However - all is not lost.
We’d suggest you ask yourself the following questions, and then think about how you can use the answers to your advantage:
What words and phrases do you want to rank on Google for? Remember, Google is a search engine, people type words into Google, searching for answers.
Who are your ideal customers? Where are they online?
When someone visits you online (website, or even social media accounts), what actions are you hoping they will take? Buy something straight away - or sign up to an email list - something else?
When someone visits your website, is it plainly obvious what you do, what you sell, and how you can “buy the thing?”
If you are running a local business, are your services and products aligned between your website and Google Business Profile?
